Kanye West releasing new energy drink
"I express myself through music, fashion, art and design and that's why I am excited to collaborate with GURU; because the brand values what I value, and I can put what inspires me into this new product," West stated in the press release.
In addition to the currently unnamed new product, GURU announced Kanye has become an equity partner in the company. Terms of the deal were not announced, but some in the business community compare the move to 50 Cent's deal with Glacéau for their Vitamin Water brand.
"We are thrilled to be able to collaborate in the development of a new GURU product with Kanye West, whose talent and creativity embody GURU's philosophy of finding your inner genius, nurturing it and helping it bloom," added GURU Co-founder Ray Jolicoeur. "GURU reflects the health and creative sensibility of today's consumer who is searching for a drink that reflects who they are and how they live."
In addition to his venture with GURU, West also has deals in place with Louis Vuitton , Nike and Travelocity.com. Looks like rapping isn't enough for Kanye
50cent denies offering Rick Ross money to end beef
50 cent can't stop having beef with other rappers. Recently, Rick Ross said the rapper offered him half a million dollars to end the feud between them. Well, in a videotaped interview between 50 Cent and radio personality Big Boy, the G-Unit leader took the time to deny Rick Ross' claim that a 50 Cent employee offered Ross $500,000 to end their beef.
"I saw that video clip on YouTube," said Fifty, smiling. "He made that up — I don't think anybody interpreted that as if it was true. People looked at that like, 'Huh? ... How much more of a fool can you make of yourself?' People look at it like, now you can't take anything from him serious."
50 pointed out that paying to end a feud would not by typical of his character, and that he enjoys beefing.(Typical) "I competed with them just to keep the culture active," he said. "Ask me: Do I need to beef with Rick Ross? I don't have a release date right now."
In the interview, 50 also predicted that Ross' upcoming album, Deeper Than Rap, would not be commercially successful. "People are paying more attention to me and Rick Ross feuding than his actual records. His sales will reflect that."

Baby Says Lil Wayne's next album not a rock album
Hip Hop fans were shocked when they heard that Lil Wayne's next album, Rebirth, would be a rock album(and I'm sure you were). Well apparently, its a rumor, according to Baby.
Skeptics can rest assured now, however, as Bryan "Baby" Williams, Cash Money Records co-CEO and mentor to Wayne, has told VIBE magazine that those reports were not accurate - at least not entirely.
“It’s not a rock record,” said the Birdman in an interview. “That’s what I think people are getting misunderstood. When you speaking about a rock record, you think he’s got a guitar and everything, but it’s not that. It’s going to be some of those types of beats, but it’s just great music. I don’t think no artist can do what he about to get done. My son is a rock star.”
“He can rap, he can sing, he’s just an artist,” he continued. “I don’t think no one will ever be greater [than Wayne] because I don’t think no one puts in the time or the quality. If someone do come along, can you imagine what he’ll have to do? He got to put out on thousand mixtapes, do a thousand records sell 100 million records. 2Pac, Jay-Z and Biggie didn’t get to the shit Wayne’s done.”
Rebirth, thought to have been possibly shelved at one point, is now set to hit stores on June 16.
Rapper T.I sentenced to one year and a day in prison
Everything is not going well for T.I. The rapper was officially sentenced in Atlanta court in March 27th to one year and one day in prison and was ordered to pay a $100,300 fine on weapons charges.
"I would like to say thank you to some, and apologize to others," said T.I. at his sentencing, according to CNN.com.
"In my life, I have been placed in the worst-case scenario and had to make the best of it," he said. "Most often, things I have learned have been from trial and error. I knew no way to protect myself than to arm myself."
The rapper was also sentenced to some property forfeiture, supervised release for three years following his prison sentence, 365 days of home confinement and 1,500 hours of community service. To date, T.I. has completed 305 days of home confinement and 1,030 hours of service. He could possibly be released from prison in as little as 10 months because of a plea deal he received. The plea deal will allow T.I. to qualify for credits that will reduce his sentence.
T.I. was arrested in October 2007 in an Atlanta parking lot mere hours before he was set to headline the BET Hip Hop Awards. His arrest came as the result of a federal sting operation after his bodyguard delivered three machine guns and two silencers to him.
The rapper, who was not allowed to own any weapons due to a 1998 felony drug charge conviction, was arrested.Do you think that he deserves to go to jail or not? Post your opinion.
